Ryan Wood had a mixed bag of results at the F1 Australian Grand Prix this weekend in the Supercars Championship, finishing P5, P22 & P6.
If there was one word to describe Race 4 it would be chaotic - with cars bumping and rubbing for the entire 19 lap race, Wood continued to maximise, placing his car down the inside passing cars every lap and he finished P5, up 12 positions from where he started.
Race 5 was an eventful one, without many laps due to multiple safety cars turning the race into time certain. Wood made his way up to P7 but was handed a drive through penalty after contact with Le Brocq, putting him to the rear of the field and crossing the line P22.
As the engines roared for Race 6, Wood got off the line well and in the safety car riddled race hr showed his true race pace, maximising on the laps he did have pushing hard to move through the field to cross the line P6.
After a wet weather downpour on Sunday morning and two laps under Safety Car, Race Control declared that Race 7 would not be resumed and no points will be awarded.
Wood currently sits 12th in the Supercars Championship Drivers Standings.
Round 3 of the Supercars Championship will be held on April 11-13 at the Taupo Super 440.
