Following two practice sessions on Friday, Saturday morning began with a back to back Qualifying where Wood finished P4 & P12.
Wood would go on to collect his first Supercars trophy in the first race of the day, with a wild start to Race 8, he shot into the lane under Safety Car and rejoined in P6 and quickly grabbed P5 from Randle on the restart.
He then was the fastest car on track and hunting down the rear bumper of Anton DePasquale for the final spot on the podium, with three laps to go he plunged the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing No. 2 down the inside to secure P3. Collecting his first trophy on home soil was a special moment for Wood in front of his home crowd.

In the second race on Saturday, Wood began P12 and was stuck in the battling pack and struggling with tyre life, so he came in early for four tyres taking an undercut strategy, rejoining in clean air which came to his advantage.
In the second half of the stint Wood was carefully looking after his tyres but struggled towards the end keeping the car from getting away from him, but he managed to maintain P9.
On Sunday’s Qualifying, Wood was down a set of greens for the session and scraped in the top 18 on a set of used tyres to proceed to Q2. He then went into the shootout confident, leaving nothing on the table putting three tenths on the cars that had run, finishing up P3 for a second row start.
The final race of the weekend was the longest, an extra 80km’s than the previous two races, meaning more strategy at play but more tyre degradation.
As the lights went out, Wood was very aggressive, taking advantage of De Pasquale running wide into P2, trying to take the lead he went down the inside of Brodie who ran wide onto the dirt for which he collected a controversial 5 second time penalty for leaving no racing room.
Dropping back to P4, the Mobil 1 Truck Assist No. 2 took the undercut strategy coming in at 15 laps, the second to pit, taking the 5 second penalty early coming out effectively P8.
Struggling with tyre life after taking an early second stop, Ryan had his head down and elbows out trying to maintain track position, crossing the line in P11.
Wood remains 12th in the Supercars Championship Drivers Standings.
Round 4 of the Supercars Championship will be held on May 9-11 at the Tasmania Super 440.
